It’s not dirty!
Now I can’t even visit my dad, know why? Because he’ll jump on me yelling how irresponsible of me it is to not wash my car. Oh, after he spent thousands of dollars in it, I don’t keep it clean. I really don’t like washing cars, they are big and dirty and it takes so much time that I don’t have.
He’s been telling me to wash it for so long. I’ve had it for over two years and I only washed it once. The second time, I paid my little sister $20 to do it for me. Now I’ve just ran out of excuses to give him, I think I’ve used them all:
- I’m busy, I have finals coming up!
- I forgot
- I don’t have a hose in our apartment
- I don’t have $4.50 to take it to the car washing guys
- I’m tired
- I get home too late
- It’s not dirty!
The last one of those reasons / excuses was the one that annoyed him the most, he rubbed the car with his fingers and showed me his dirty fingertips “It isn’t?”. I tried to contain my laughter and he said that I should be ashamed of it, going to school in a dirty car. As if college kids had time to notice and judge about other people’s dirty cars, while their own were also dirty.
He didn’t believe me when I said every other car at my University’s parking lot was dirty. I rubbed 5 cars and it seems like I’m not the only one with a filthy car!
However, if you like washing cars and you are willing to wash it for me free of charge give me a call ;)
Does anyone enjoy car washing? Why? What is the dirtiest you’ve had your own / your family’s car? My sister doesn’t like me to pick her from school because she says I embarrass her with my dirty car. Are you ashamed of a dirty ride?
Footnote: I tweaked the layout to make it look cleaner, and get rid of the pinks/purples. Almost everything is recycled from the last one :P

I don’t particularly notice when a car is dirty; I’m more likely to point out a sparkling clean one! My dad just gets car washes for the exterior, but then I have to clean the inside - as with all cleaning/chores, I don’t enjoy it. Our van is nowhere near as dirty as some cars, though.
I only notice the cleanliness of one’s car when mine is clean. Otherwise I don’t care. It’s illegal to wash a car in the street here, so we always have to go to the car wash, which I don’t mind, because I can imagine washing it by hand may be a pain!
Like Kay, the inside of the car is MUCH more important to me than the outside.
My boyfriend has a white Isuzu Rodeo and it’s always dirty. There’s something sexy about it. But when it’s my car, I do usually wash the outside a lot. I’ll go thru a drive-thru car wash, usually around the same time I completely vacuum and clean out the inside.
It isn’t super important, but if someone bought me a car and asked that I just keep it clean, I’d probably find time to do it. :)
Well, I cannot wash a car even if my life depended on it. See, by the time I finish washing one side of it, the other is dry and still kind of dirty… like a vicious cycle that will never end!
My dad loved washing his car once he got the car of his dreams. I’m with you though - I’ve washed the exterior of my car, um, once since I bought it 3 years ago! Which is horrible, I know, and I ought to do better. It really needs it too - the windows are getting kind of translucent, ha.
College students are wayyyy too busy to be thinking about washing their car. It’s probably one of their last priorities. I never washed a car, and I don’t have a car to wash.
And a ride is a ride. I’ll take it but if it is REALLY embarrassing, I’ll sit in the back seat and try to hide my face or something =/.
Since my parents have their new car they regularly wash it. It’s too big to go through the car wash so they think it’s a family event to wash the bloody thing! Obviously I just sit inside with my mug of hot chocolate mocking their attempts.
Oh, how I laugh when it rains straight after they’ve finished. (Yes, I am that cruel!)
Unlike my parents, washing a car definitely isn’t one of my priorities. I refuse to make it so too. Stay strong, Lene!
I used to like washing the car when I was younger, because my mom, dad, brother and me would all help clean it. My mom always cleaned the inside though… but that was when I was 9.
You know what’s funny, I don’t think we’ve ever cleaned our new car ever since we bought it. Ever.
I probably won’t clean my car that often if I had one too. I mean, I don’t care if it’s dirty, all I care is that it works and gets me to places. Haha :D
I like scraping soap off the windows but what I really love is entering one of those car washing machines at petrol stations.
Dude, you are an ungrateful, spoiled idiot. Wash your car you lazy piece of excrement.
Ever heard of a car wash ass-wipe!!!
I can completely imagine you being too busy to wash your car. My aunts never washed their cars but always got my uncle or somebody random to do it. My cousin since she’s had her car, only goes into the automatic car wash haha. She’s never put a towel or hand on the thing. The only person I know who hand washed their truck was my mother. She would wash it every Sunday unless it rained haha. I don’t own a car yet but I think I’m more like my mom. I always thought washing cars was fun XD The layout looks pretty nice too haha.
I bought my car over a year ago and I haven’t washed it once. It’s sooooo dirty but I don’t care, as long as it drives. :P
