Planning
I never thought of this until now, but I’m a hardcore planner.
I’ve always been very careful about what I do and that includes planning everything beforehand. I’ve always had a planner where I write everything I have / want to do and every upcoming event.
Nowadays, I don’t have one planner. I have multiple planners for different aspects of my life. Some are short-term plans, some a long-term plans and some are really long-term plans. The one I use the most for remembering important dates and things to do (mostly for univ.) is the calendar on Sancho, my iPod. When I first got it, I never ever thought that I’d use Sancho’s calendar so much.
Having a planner makes me feel like I have some things under control… when I really don’t. It really does help me organize without stressing to the point of considering slitting my wrists.

*inhales peace and exhales happiness*
Do you plan things? If so, do you keep your plans organized in a planner or do you just remember everything?

I usually have a planner in the form of my calendar…and at the moment I have my exam timetable printed out next to my desk. However, in terms of portable planners, I have nada. It’s quite depressing actually. I would like an iPhone to do that sort of stuff for me. :P
I have a little planner, but I’ve stopped using it. It’s probably not a good thing since I have a rather selective memory :)
I NEED to keep a planner (or at least write my appointments somewhere), otherwise I’ll forget. I use the google/ig TODO list, at work it’s my outlook and sometimes I’ll write my plans down on a piece of paper. I don’t have a planner like you though, well, I do, but I hardly use it.
I just have a little 2008 diary to keep all the dates/times. Due dates for assignments, tests, work hours, etc. Not too organised. :)
Hehe i use to plan lot of things too in my phone. But my phone is an “old” K600 from Sony and the planning tool is very simple.
I always arm myself with a planner when I’m in school. Otherwise I’d forget things, confuse myself, and fail really.
As much as I’d like to think I’m spontaneous, I am NOT. I need time to prepare mentally for almost every situation! But on the other hand, I’m not too strict with whatever plan I come up with — I usually have a vague idea of what I want to do, but I don’t have it nailed to the smallest detail. I come up with various scenarios and let life run its course. I am too easy-going for my own good. (”A la buena de Dios”, like mom says =P)
I love planners — I think they’re gorgeous and fabulous and oh-so-chic (and practical, for some people =P), but I write one or two things in them and then forget they exist. What I usually do is crucify my wall calendar with important dates and stuff; I also set reminders on my cellphone calendar, because I’m dependent on technology like that. But my short-term memory is almost obsolete, so it’s a constant battle between me and the will-power to remember to check for “something important”!
Most of the time, I can’t be bothered with writing things down. So I just remember things. When I’m pressed for time (insanely busy and have to 24 hours of crap in 10), I plan things. Then, I construct hour by hour play-by-play schedules to follow. Other than that, I don’t write anything down.
Good luck on those final exams coming up. :D
Normally, I just remember everything (like how I have to do a French project, clean the computer desk, and clean my room in about 30 minutes) but I have horrible memory. Occasionally, I write stuff down, but it always gets messy anyway. :P
Last year, my planner and I were inseparable. But, this year, so far, I have nothing to plan! Which sucks! I’d like to get back into it, because I like being organized. I suppose I could just take advantage of the planning capabilities on my laptop! :)
I have a homework planner for school, since I’m loaded with incredible amounts of homework, thanks to an evil science teacher. I also use the Stickies application that comes on a Mac to remind me things I’ll probably forget. Without my planners, I’d probably be failing school because I’d have forgotten to do an important homework assignment!
Just looking at your planners makes me want to buy some for myself… *twitch* Thanks a lot.
I have a truckload of files on my computer named x-todo (eg site-todo). But I rarely open them, so they’re kind of useless :P
I like your notebooks though. LOL at you naming your iPod. I have an mp3 player, which has a very vague resemblance to an iPod, and to me it’s jut that “black thing with a monitor for listening to music” XD
Oh I’m a planner! But, I don’t have a planner as such. I use the calender on my phone to put all my ‘appointments’ etc in.
Aww, I love your notebook planners. I TRY to be like you, but I always fail. I had my Starbucks planner for 2006 but I only made it halfway. I like jotting down things and making to-do lists, but I don’t have a specific notebook for it. I put them on random pieces of paper, haha. I do have a purple notebook that has ‘NEVER’ cut-out on the cover and I jot down things there.
I buy a planner every year. I always have great intentions on actually using said planner the whole year but alas, I only end up using it for a week or two. And then, because I am just crazy like this, I will go back and fill in stuff I did/had to do weeks or months after it happened just to make myself feel like I’ve used my planner. I am a sucker for notebooks, planners, stationery, etc. so I always buy, but seldom use regularly. The only times I ever really used a planner consistently was in high school and college. Since I graduated, I haven’t really needed a planner. I still keep buying them though…
I use the planner in the front of my diary/agenda for uni stuff, and I do like to be organised, but not quite to THAT extent!
