Hi there, my name is Lene and I’m 20 years old.

I am a premed biology student, a part-time assistant librarian and a professional bed potato (seriously, I can do many things while lying on my bed). I’m clumsy, have a bad memory and laugh at my own jokes (that happen to be bad or offensive) even if nobody else does. Oops.

I don’t get bored; in fact, there are too many things that I want to do in life and I always get the feeling that I’m running out of time. So, boredom is definitely not on my to-do list.

My father says that when you go to college you become a communist/terrorist, an atheist and a vegetarian. He thinks I’m all three, but I’m just the latter two, I swear. I’m used to being alone and I like it, but I’m not a sociopath (yet). I like making plans and getting things done right and as early as possible. I’m not a procrastinator and I don’t wait for others to do things for me.

Call me Ms. Dictator, because I tend to try and control everything and everyone. I like influencing people in a positive way (not to be confused with taking over their lives and telling them what to do, but I like that too). Let’s just say that things usually get done my way.

I also like drawing, taking pictures, reading, writing, learning stuff that most people consider unimportant, talking about random stuff that apparently only I care about, shopping, collecting notebooks, browsing the Internet and sleeping. The list of things I hate is too long, so I’ll just tell you I hate clowns.

In general, I think I’m happy.

I created this website in June 19th, 2007 as “place” for me to share my thoughts, talk about myself and do other selfish things.

The word silencio means “silence” in Spanish and silencios is its plural. I could make up a story behind the name, but there isn’t one. It was just an available domain name. Yes, I’m very philosophical, I know. Considering English is my second language - Why do I blog in English? I don’t know, I have yet to think of a good reason. If you find a spelling or grammar error, please let me know.
